Do you notice the signs of stress? Do you take time in your day to focus on yourself? Have you ever tried meditation?
When people meditate, they typically set aside a time during the day with the aim of clearing their mind of thoughts. However, meditation can be practised in various forms, and it is important to find a form that works for you. Everyone is different.
During meditation you can access the alpha frequency. This is a much more relaxed and deeper frequency than the waking beta state. It is a restorative and healing frequency that can help you release stress, gain greater clarity, and focus. It is typically accessed through deep relaxation or meditation. It is also said to stimulate creative thought.
The theta frequency is a still deeper frequency that can also be accessed through even deeper relaxation and meditation.
The delta frequency is associated with deep sleep. It is one of the deepest brainwaves and is considered a restorative state.
The benefits of a regular meditative practice include:
Increased blood flow
Decreased heart rate
Can enhance energy, clarity, and focus
Can lower blood pressure
Can increase serotonin levels
Can enhance intuition
Provides peace of mind
Relaxes the nervous system
Can support pain tolerance
